Arkana bumper antenna error

I'm experiencing an odd issue with my 2023 Renault Arkana, gasoline engine. It has 143324 km on the clock. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory related to the bumper antenna. As a result, unlocking and locking the car no longer works reliably. Furthermore, the engine now requires the key in the ignition lock to start, which wasn't the case before. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection to the component. Has anyone else encountered something similar?

Sounds like the receiver amplifier for the keyless entry system, which is often integrated with the bumper antenna, is failing. Is the radio reception also degraded? If so, it would further point to the antenna system.

That's a good point about the radio. I hadn't considered it. I'll check that. But if it's the receiver amplifier, is there a way to test it definitively before replacing it? Or is it just a process of elimination?

Testing can be tricky without the proper diagnostic tools. Given the symptoms and your suspicion of a connection issue, it's likely the antenna amplifier or its wiring. A workshop can pinpoint it quickly. The cost is probably around 95€ for repair.

Thanks for the insight. I checked the radio reception, and it's definitely worse than before. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was a defective connection to the bumper antenna amplifier. Repair cost me exactly 95€. Everything is working as expected again.
