Arkana electric steering column issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Renault Arkana hybrid experienced a malfunction with its electric steering column adjustment, rendering it inoperable and displaying an error message. Initial checks of the fuses showed no issues. The problem was suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection to the steering column adjustment motor or its control module. A professional diagnosis confirmed a loose connection, which was subsequently repaired.

Thanks for the quick reply! By 'associated control module' do you mean the car's main computer, or is there a separate one just for the steering column?

To clarify, the 'associated control module' refers to a dedicated electronic control unit (ECU) that manages the electric steering column adjustment functionality. While it communicates with the vehicle's central processing unit (CPU), it is a distinct component. It is advisable to seek a professional diagnosis. A scan of the error memory may reveal further diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), pinpointing the source of the malfunction with greater precision. I recommend visiting a qualified repair shop.

Took it to the shop. You were spot on – turned out to be a loose connection! They fixed the cable for 95€. Thanks a lot for your help!

Greetings. The symptoms you describe, namely the stored error in conjunction with the inoperability of the electric steering column adjustment, suggest a fault within the system. Given the stored error, have you considered the possibility of a defective cable or plug connection to the steering column adjustment motor or the associated control module? A discontinuity in the circuit would prevent the motor from receiving the necessary signals for operation.
