Arkana engine overheating air flaps
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Renault Arkana with a gasoline engine is experiencing overheating and a check engine light, with diagnostics indicating a fault in the active air flaps due to a defective electromechanism. This issue can lead to engine overheating if not addressed. A similar problem was resolved by having the air flap motor checked and repaired at a workshop, which is recommended to prevent further damage.

Thanks for your reply. It's more that it's overheating, rather than struggling to get up to temperature. Did your issue also trigger the check engine light, and did the diagnostic specifically point to the air intake flaps?

Yeah, check engine light came on. Diagnostic pointed to the air flap motor. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop; could save you from more serious overheating damage.

Thank you for confirming. I appreciate your advice. The workshop confirmed the electromechanism was faulty; the repair cost came to 590€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue.

I had something similar on my Arkana. Engine was running hotter than usual. Is it struggling to get up to temperature?
