Arkana engine stalling check engine light

Fuel efficiency seems normal, and I haven't noticed any smells. How would a fuel tank issue cause stalling?

Think of your fuel tank as a sealed container. As fuel is used, a vacuum forms. The ventilation system, including the charcoal filter, is designed to equalize the pressure. If there's a leak or blockage, it can create too much vacuum, starving the engine of fuel, hence the stalling. A defective activated charcoal filter is a likely cause. It can also trigger the check engine light due to emission control problems. I would suggest you take it to a trusted workshop to get it checked.

Thanks for the insight. It was indeed the activated charcoal filter, causing a leak in the fuel tank ventilation system. Repair cost me 275€. Appreciate the help!

Stalling and a check engine light could be a number of things. Have you noticed any changes in fuel efficiency, or any unusual smells, particularly after filling up the tank? A common culprit, especially with those symptoms, can be related to the fuel tank ventilation system. There's a pressure sensor involved; is it showing any unusual readings? Also, when was the last time you checked your purge valve?
