Arkana Heavy Steering Vibration
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Renault Arkana hybrid experienced heavy steering and vibration issues, suspected to be related to the power steering cutting out. The problem was identified as a defective steering angle sensor, which was confirmed by another owner who had a similar issue. Replacing the sensor resolved the problem, suggesting that faulty sensor coding might affect traction control or electronic stability systems.

Yeah, the shaking did start slowly. Gets worse on the highway and turning definitely makes it more obvious. Was yours the angle sensor too?

Yep, pretty sure it was! The dealer mentioned something about a faulty coding of the sensor. Cost about 195€ to sort. Get it checked; could be traction control or electronic stability playing up because of it.

Thanks for the help! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – steering angle sensor was defective. Replaced it, and all good now!

Hello, I recently bought a 2022 Arkana 1.3 TCe 140hp with 67,000km, RS Line model. We've just noticed that the car shakes starting at 90km/h or 100km/h. It doesn't do it on perfectly smooth roads. Do you think it's the steering angle sensor? Or should we balance the wheels first? I'm very sensitive to road feel, etc. I don't think this is normal, especially with 55-profile tires...Thanks in advance

Start by checking the wheel balance, as unbalanced wheels are a common cause of vibrations at higher speeds. If the issue persists after balancing, inspect the tire condition and alignment. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Sounds familiar! I had something similar with my Arkana. Did the shaking start gradually? Does it feel worse at certain speeds or when turning?
