Arkana Hissing Noise Power Loss

I'm experiencing a problem with my 2021 Renault Arkana hybrid (147267 km). The check engine light is on, and the engine power is noticeably reduced. Engine response is poor, and it occasionally stalls at idle. I've also observed higher fuel consumption. There's a whistling noise that turns into a loud hissing sound when accelerating. Could this be a faulty pressure sensor, or perhaps an issue with the throttle body? I suspect it may be the boost pressure system.

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Renault Arkana hybrid is experiencing power loss, poor engine response, stalling, increased fuel consumption, and a hissing noise when accelerating. The issue is suspected to be related to the boost pressure system, possibly involving a faulty pressure sensor or throttle body. Another individual with similar symptoms suggests checking the wastegate valve, which was confirmed to be the problem, causing a leak in the boost pressure. The issue was resolved by replacing the defective wastegate valve.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my Arkana. Check your wastegate valve. Reduced power and hissing sounds are classic signs. Also check the MAP sensor, but my money is on the wastegate.

Thank you for your quick reply. Could you provide more details about the wastegate valve issue you experienced? Was it a complete failure, or were there other factors involved? And approximately when did you have that issue?

It was indeed the wastegate. The valve itself was defective, causing a leak in the boost pressure. It started subtly, with just a slight hesitation, but quickly worsened. If you are unsure, I suggest you take it to a workshop, they will quickly read the error code.

Appreciate the confirmation and advice. I took it to the workshop, and it turns out the wastegate valve was indeed the culprit, as you suggested. Repair cost came to 860€. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
