Arkana hybrid engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Renault Arkana hybrid with 224,000 kilometers is experiencing reduced engine power and an error code related to the engine control. The issue may be linked to a defective engine control unit (ECU) or a faulty main relay. A system reset is suggested as a potential solution, but professional diagnosis is recommended. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a defective main relay, which was repaired, resolving the power loss issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't tried a system reset yet. Is that something I can do myself, or is it best left to a professional? I'm not sure about the exact error code, but it mentioned something about the engine control.

If it's pointing to the ECU, and a reset doesn't fix it, it might be a defective main relay. Those can cause all sorts of weird engine performance issues. You're probably best off taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on – it was the main relay! Repair cost was around 120€. Runs like new again.

Reduced power and error codes usually point to ECU problems. Did you try a system reset? Sometimes that clears things up, but it could also be a sign of a deeper issue. What kind of error code are you getting?
