Arkana Hybrid Exhaust Leak

I'm having trouble with my 2023 Renault Arkana Hybrid. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed reduced engine power and higher fuel consumption. My car has 138423 km on it. Could this be a faulty exhaust temperature sensor? A diagnostic tool is showing temperature fluctuation and a possible exhaust leak.

That sounds frustrating! I drive an Arkana Hybrid too. I had almost the same symptoms a while back: Check Engine light, sluggish performance… it felt like I was towing a small house! Was the diagnostic tool very specific about the exhaust system?

Yes, it was. The error code specifically mentions the exhaust temperature sensor, indicating irregular readings. It seems to fluctuate wildly. Is that what you experienced? Was it also an exhaust issue for you?

Yes, exactly! I was getting similar sensor readings. I think it's best to get it checked by a good mechanic. For me, it was an exhaust leak, so the heat sensor wasn't reading right. It's like trying to measure a room's temperature with the window open – the reading will always be off.

Thanks for confirming. I appreciate your help. I booked an appointment at a good workshop. It turned out to be an exhaust leak, just like you said, which caused the sensor to give incorrect readings. The repair cost 265€. Your input was really valuable.
