Arkana Hybrid Stalling Idle

My 2023 Renault Arkana hybrid with 165628 km is stalling at idle. The check engine light is on, and the error memory logs an error for the idle air control valve. A heavily contaminated intake seems likely. Has anyone else had similar issues with this model and engine?

Stalling engine on a hybrid, eh? Sounds like a pain! Did you check the throttle body for gunk? A dirty throttle body can mess with the IAC valve's job and cause idle weirdness.

Could you elaborate on the cleaning procedure for the throttle body? What cleaning agent do you recommend, and what pitfalls should I be aware of?

Cleaning it yourself can be risky. Hybrid systems are sensitive. With those symptoms and the mileage, a clogged intake causing IAC valve issues sounds spot on. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They have the right tools and know-how to avoid messing up the electronics. Better safe than sorry.

I took the vehicle to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and repair. The assessment confirmed a heavily contaminated intake system, requiring a thorough cleaning and adjustment of the idle air control valve. The total cost was 425€.
