Good shout about the spare key, I'll give that a try. Though, I’m not holding out much hope, the other key is ancient. When you had the same problem with the Peugeot, was it definitely a key programming thing? Or something else entirely?

Yeah, tried both keys, same story. Eventually bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They plugged it in, did some magic with their computer, and boom, all sorted. I reckon best to go to the shop for a diagnostic. It can be a pain, but in the long run it will save you a lot of time!

Cheers for the advice! Dropped it at the workshop and you were spot on. Key programming was off. They sorted it out with some diagnostic thing. Only cost 45€ so I'm happy, could have been much worse!

That sounds rough! I had a similar drama with my old Peugeot 308, different brand, but same symptoms. Engine would crank, maybe catch for a split second, then give up. And the security light was like a disco. Did you try the spare key? Just to rule out a dodgy key fob battery or something simple?
