Arkana Overheating Slow Warm-up

My 2022 Renault Arkana hybrid with 196596 km is overheating and taking ages to reach operating temp. I suspect the thermostat cooling circuit motor is defective. Has anyone else seen this?

Sounds familiar! I had similar overheating issues with my Arkana, and the slow warm-up too. I'd put money on it being the map thermostat. Before you go too deep, have you checked coolant levels and for any obvious leaks? Also, is the temperature sensor working correctly?

Coolant levels are fine, no visible leaks. How did you confirm it was the map thermostat specifically? Were there any specific error codes?

No specific codes that stood out, just the overheating and slow warm-up. A mechanic I know reckoned it was the thermostat straight away, said they often go on Arkanas. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop; they can diagnose it properly. Could be the water pump too, but thermostat is more likely given the symptoms.

Thanks, appreciate the insight. Took it to the workshop, confirmed it was indeed the map thermostat. Quoted 350€ for the replacement. Getting it sorted now.
