Arkana oxygen sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Renault Arkana owner experienced a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, with a diagnostic scan indicating an oxygen sensor error. The issue was likely due to a faulty connection in the O2 sensor circuit, similar to a loose wire causing intermittent power. The suggested solution was to inspect the sensor's cable and plug connection for damage or corrosion, preferably by a professional. After following this advice, the problem was resolved by cleaning the connection, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks for the tip! When you say cable and plug connection, are we talking about the bit right on the sensor itself, or further up the line? Is it something I can easily check myself without special tools?

Yes, I am talking about the bit right on the sensor itself. Given the error code and symptoms, it's quite likely a defective cable or plug connection. You could try inspecting it yourself, but honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They have the right tools and expertise to diagnose it properly. I ended up paying around 95€ for the repair. Sometimes it is not worth it to risk damaging other components in the exhaust system!

Thanks a lot for your advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on – it was a bad connection on the O2 sensor. They cleaned it up and now it runs smoothly. Saved me a ton of headache!

Interesting issue! I had a similar problem with my Arkana recently. The symptoms sound exactly like what I experienced. It turned out to be a faulty connection in the O2 sensor circuit. Think of it like a loose wire in a lamp – the power flickers, and the light doesn't shine right. Have you checked the sensor's cable and plug connection for any damage or corrosion?
