Arkana System Readiness Error

Hi, I have a 2019 Renault Arkana with a gasoline engine. My car shows an error message in the speedometer related to system readiness. The error memory also stores a 'system readiness check incomplete' error. The car has 145287 km on it. Recently, I used an OBD2 scanner, and I suspect this might be the cause. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hey there! Yeah, incomplete readiness after using an OBD2 scanner is pretty common. Basically, the scanner might have cleared some of the emissions monitors before they were fully tested and 'ready'. The car needs to run through specific drive cycles to complete these checks. What were you trying to diagnose with the scanner in the first place?

Thanks for the info! I was checking for some unrelated, historical errors. So, is it possible to somehow trigger the system readiness check manually, or do I just need to keep driving?

Right, clearing those codes probably reset the monitors. You can't really force it, unfortunately. Some drive cycles are published online, but honestly, just normal driving should do the trick. If it persists for a long time, or you need to get an inspection soon, a workshop can force the readiness, but for a fee of course. Otherwise, give it some time and kilometers.

Okay, thanks for the advice! Just to let you know, after a couple of days, the error disappeared on its own. Apparently, normal driving did the trick. Also, reading the error memory again using a different diagnostic tool confirmed the system readiness check as complete. No cost involved!
