Arkana Undervoltage Errors

I've got a 2021 Renault Arkana with a gasoline engine, and she's been throwing fits lately. 241837 km on the clock. The main issue is undervoltage, throwing all kinds of errors. It starts poorly, various systems are acting up, lights are flickering, and the battery feels weak when starting. I've checked the battery terminals, and they look clean, but could this be a sign of a bigger alternator issue or something draining the battery? Anyone else experienced anything like this with their Arkana?

I encountered a similar problem with my 2018 Volvo XC60. The symptoms you describe—poor starting, system failures, and flickering lights—strongly suggest a problem within the charging system. Have you measured the battery voltage both at rest and while the engine is running? A significant voltage drop could indicate a faulty alternator or a parasitic drain. It would be prudent to also examine the grounding points and wiring harnesses for corrosion or damage.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't done a proper voltage test yet, but I plan to get to it this weekend. When you say grounding points, where exactly should I be looking? Are there any specific locations under the hood of the Arkana I should prioritize for checking corrosion?

The critical grounding points are typically located on the engine block, chassis, and near the battery itself. Given the complexity of modern vehicle electrical systems, tracing and diagnosing such issues can prove to be quite difficult. Given the symptoms you are experiencing, it might be best to seek counsel from a qualified technician who can perform a thorough diagnostic assessment.

Took your advice and brought it to a trusted shop. Turns out the battery was toast, even though it wasn't that old. Replaced it for around 290€ and everything is working as expected. Thanks for steering me in the right direction!
