Armada Overheating Active Air Flap Issue

I'm having a real headache with my 2016 Nissan Armada, gasoline engine. The check engine light keeps popping up, and I've noticed the engine is overheating, especially when I'm stuck in traffic. I've done some digging, and it seems like it might be related to the active air flap system? Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Armada. The active air flap electromechanism is likely defective. The system controls thermal management, including the grille shutter within the cooling system.

Interesting! So, if it's the active air flap electromechanism, is that a straightforward fix, or am I looking at a major cooling system overhaul?

In my case, the electromechanism itself was the problem, not the entire cooling system. However, because of the mileage (186450 km), I would not exclude a defective flap. To prevent further damage, I recommend going to a workshop.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. I'll get it checked out by a professional. Turns out it was exactly what you said: a defective electromechanism. Cost me 590€ to repair, but at least the overheating is gone now!
