Assistance with ABS warning light and defective brake light on 2017 Mini Clubman

Hey guys, I drive a 2017 Mini Clubman with a gasoline engine, and it already has a good 53,722km on the clock. Recently, the ABS warning light came on and the brake light stopped working. I suspect a defect in the brake light switch. Has anyone had a similar problem with their car and what was their experience with the garage? Would be super grateful for any help or info! Thanks in advance!

Hey, I once had a similar problem with my 2014 Mini Countryman. The other day when I was in the garage, they found out it was the brake light switch. The warning lights came on for me too. This was not a simple switch replacement, but a more serious problem. So, I'd say it's best to take your car to the garage as soon as possible so that the guys there can have a look at it. In my case, the damage was quickly repaired, hopefully it will be the same for you! Keep at it and eventually everything will run smoothly again. Bye bye!

Hey, thanks for your reply! That doesn't sound too reassuring, but it's good to know. Do you remember roughly what you paid for the repair? And have any other problems arisen since then, or is your Mini now running smoothly again? Thank you for helping me!

Hey, no problem! After I went to the mechanic, the defect in the brake light switch was rectified. That was no longer a problem from then on. But unfortunately that wasn't all because I had to dig a little deeper into my pocket as the control unit was broken. That cost me €1000. But since then my Mini has been running like a champ again, so the investment was definitely worth it. So don't worry, let the professionals do it and it'll be fine! All the best and let us know how it goes! Bye!

Oops, that sounds like quite a sum, but I'm glad to hear your Mini is running smoothly again now! I'll take your advice and get my car to the garage as soon as possible. Hopefully it won't be that expensive for me either. I will keep you posted. Thanks again for your help and advice! Bye!
