Astra ABS Fault

Hey, I own a 2022 Vauxhall Astra hybrid. Recently, at 168071 km, the ABS lamp lights up and I'm experiencing traction problems, leading to ABS failure. Anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a defective ECM?

Sounds nasty! ABS and traction issues are no joke. Diagnostic should point to a wheel speed sensor. A faulty sensor will cause your dashboard to light up. Have you checked those?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the sensors myself. I thought maybe it's a control unit. But, if it were the sensors, wouldn't the diagnostic show a specific sensor malfunction, rather than a general speed signal fault?

It should, but sometimes the readings are vague, leading to a general fault code. Given it's affecting the whole system, and it's a newer hybrid, the control unit is more likely. I'd suggest getting it to a workshop.

You were right! It turned out the affected control unit was defective. The repair cost me 1000€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks a lot for your advice!
