Astra acceleration jerking
Summary of the thread
A 2014 diesel Astra was experiencing jerking during acceleration, reduced power, stalling at idle, rough running, and a strong exhaust smell, with the check engine light on. The issue was suspected to be a defective, scorched intake manifold leaking. After replacing the intake manifold, the symptoms were resolved.

Thanks. Could you give me more details about the gasket leak you had? Were other parts affected, like the manifold sensor or pressure?

It was definitely the gasket, but honestly, I'm not mechanically gifted. I just took it to a shop when the engine started acting up. They told me the manifold was leaking and replaced the whole thing.

Thanks. Based on that and some more checking, I had the intake manifold replaced. Cost 1180€. Symptoms are gone now. Thanks again for the help.

Sounds familiar. I've got an Astra too, and I had almost the same symptoms a while back. Did you check the intake manifold gasket? Mine was leaking like crazy, causing all sorts of engine misfires.
