Astra Airbag Warning Light and Rollover Sensor Error

Hi, I have a 2006 Vauxhall Astra with a diesel engine. I'm getting an error stored, and the airbag warning lamp lights up. I think the rollover sensor is malfunctioning, maybe the control unit is defective. Has anyone experienced this?

Hello there. I have an Astra too, although I do not know what year. I experienced something similar. My airbag light was on constantly, and the diagnostics pointed to a problem within the SRS. If it is the sensor, I've heard the repairs can get pricey. Have you checked the sensor connections to be sure they are clean and secure?

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the connections, but they seem fine. Did your diagnostics also mention a rollover sensor? And do you remember what the repair cost you, roughly?

Yes, the diagnostics specifically mentioned the rollover sensor in my case too. I remember the workshop told me it was likely a defective control unit and suggested replacement. Honestly, I do not know what it cost, as it was covered by my insurance, but be prepared, as I know that it can cost around 1000€.

Thanks for confirming. I suspected it might be the control unit. I'll take it to a workshop and brace myself for the cost.
