Astra antenna immobilizer issue

I'm having a bizarre issue with my 2010 Vauxhall Astra (gasoline engine). The car is showing an error, the key fob no longer unlocks the car reliably, and now I can't even start the car without the key physically in the ignition. Could this be related to the bumper antenna? It seems incredibly strange.

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Astra. Is your car radio acting up too? Any signal interference?

Now that you mention it, the radio reception has been pretty bad lately. Could a faulty antenna really cause all these problems?

Yep, the antenna cable is likely defective. It's all connected. Best get it checked professionally. It can affect the central locking and immobilizer. Going to a workshop is the easiest way.
