Astra Coolant Level Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Vauxhall Astra diesel displayed a check engine light due to a low coolant level warning. Despite no visible leaks and normal engine temperature, the issue was resolved by refilling the coolant and fixing a hose leak. A faulty sensor was also considered a potential cause, but a workshop visit confirmed the low coolant level and addressed the problem.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen any visible leaks, and the temperature gauge seems normal. How did you fix it?

Well, in my case, it was a very slow leak from one of the radiator hoses. Nothing obvious, but enough to drop the coolant level over time. However, without a visible leak and normal temperature, it could be other things. Maybe a pressure test is needed to find the source of the problem, or it could even be a faulty sensor giving a false reading. I would recommend taking it to a workshop; they will find the problem quickly.

Thanks, I took your advice and went to the workshop. Turned out the coolant level was indeed too low, which caused the warning light to come on. They refilled the coolant and checked for leaks, fixed the hose, the bill came to 52€. Hopefully, it's sorted now.

Hello there. I had a similar issue with my Astra. Do you notice any signs of a leak? Any coolant on the driveway or around the engine bay? Is the engine overheating, or does it reach normal temperature?
