Astra cylinder pressure fluctuations

I've got a 2008 Vauxhall Astra, diesel engine, with about 52000 km on the clock. Recently, I've noticed higher fuel consumption, a definite drop in engine power, and the check engine light keeps popping up. I scanned it and it points to cylinder pressure fluctuations. I've checked the basics, like spark plugs (though they looked fine), but I'm not sure where to go next. Any ideas?

Hey, sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot, but it turned out to be something completely unexpected. Did you check the fuel injector?

Fuel injector, huh? I hadn't considered that. Is that something I can easily check myself, or am I better off taking it to a shop? What exactly was the issue with your Peugeot?

I wouldn't mess with the fuel injector yourself unless you know what you're doing. With my Peugeot the error was due to a damaged timing belt. You should bring it to a workshop. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I will have it checked by a pro. They found a consequential error that caused the other errors. All in all the repair was completely free of charge because it was a warranty issue!
