Astra Electric AC failure

I had a similar issue with my 2019 Renault Megane. Any unusual AC noise when you turn the system on, even if it's not cooling?

I didn't notice any unusual noises. The system simply doesn't switch on. Could a defective AC relay cause this, or is it more likely a deeper issue?

In my case, the lack of noise also pointed to a defect in individual valves in the air conditioning system. I'd suggest having it inspected by a qualified technician. The repair cost circa 1000€.
