Astra Electric Auxiliary Battery Issue

Hi, I'm getting a weird error on my 2023 Vauxhall Astra Electric. It's done 190855 km. I keep getting an error message in the speedometer, plus there's an error stored in the memory. Seems like the battery is weak when starting the engine. Now I'm getting all sorts of general electrical malfunctions. Could it be the auxiliary battery?

Sounds rough! I had similar issues with my BMW 3 Series last year. Same symptoms - error messages popping up, sluggish starts, and the whole car acting like it was possessed by gremlins! Turned out the auxiliary battery wasn't charging properly. Have you checked the voltage?

Voltage? How would I check that? And how did you figure out it was the auxiliary battery on your BMW and not something else?

Well, I don't have the gear to properly check that, I'm afraid. I took it to a workshop, they diagnosed the issue. They tested the charging system and found the auxiliary battery was knackered. If you're seeing electrical gremlins, it might be worth getting it checked out professionally. Saved me a load of hassle!

Thanks! Took your advice and went to the workshop. Turns out the aux battery wasn't charging. They replaced it for 290€. All good now!
