Thanks. Could you give more detail on where to find the seat harness and power supply? Any specific connectors I should check for corrosion or damage?

Check the harness under the seat itself; it's clipped to the seat frame. Given the symptoms, I'd suggest consulting a workshop. Best to get a professional to check the electrics rather than doing it yourself.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local garage as you suggested. They found a faulty connection within the seat harness caused by corrosion. Repair cost was 290€. Seat's working perfectly now.

I had a similar issue with my Astra. Have you checked the seat harness and the power supply to the seat switch? A loose connection there can cause those symptoms.
