Thanks for the quick reply! The temperature gauge does climb rapidly, yes. Where exactly is the speed sensor located, and is it something I could check myself, or would it be better to take it to a mechanic?

It's usually near one of the wheels, but honestly, unless you're comfortable with car electrics, I'd get it checked at a workshop. A faulty speed sensor was the reason for my fan issue. Cost me around 250€ all in.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – it was indeed the speed sensor causing the radiator fan not to work. They replaced it, and now the cooling system is working perfectly. Cost me 250€ as you said. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Astra, although it's a bit older. Does the temperature gauge climb pretty quickly? If so, it might be worth checking the speed sensor. A faulty one can prevent the fan from kicking in when it should.
