Regarding the electrical connectors, where are they located and how should I inspect them? Were there any other diagnostic steps you took before checking the connectors? Any clarity would be appreciated.

On my Astra, the primary connector for the headlight assembly is directly behind the headlight unit, accessible after removing the protective cover. It's a multi-pin connector, so ensure each pin is secure and free from corrosion. I initially explored potential sensor failures, but the consistent symptoms pointed to the headlight's movement. Given the complexity, especially with auto-leveling, I'd advise consulting a qualified workshop to save time and potential frustration.

Following your suggestion, I consulted a certified workshop. The diagnosis confirmed a defective servomotor within the headlight, needing replacement. The total cost was 1040€.

I understand your predicament. I own an older Astra and had a similar issue with my headlights. The error message, warning light, and erratic beam direction mirror my experience. Have you inspected the electrical connectors to the headlight unit? A loose or corroded connection can wreak havoc, especially on the adaptive headlights.
