Astra High Voltage System Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Vauxhall Astra electric vehicle is experiencing a high-voltage system error, causing the engine to shut off and reduce power. The issue may stem from a discharged or defective battery, possibly due to defective insulation of high-voltage components. A certified workshop inspection revealed a wiring insulation fault that damaged the battery, leading to necessary repairs.

Thanks, the car is used regularly. I haven't checked for unusual battery drain though. What kind of electrical wiring issues might cause that?

Defective insulation of the high-voltage components could be the reason. Without proper diagnostic tools, it's hard to tell. I recommend a workshop visit, as the battery is likely discharged or defective.

Understood, thanks. I've had it inspected at a certified workshop. It was a wiring insulation fault which damaged the battery. The repair cost was 290€

I own an Astra, and those symptoms do sound familiar. Has it been sitting unused, or have you noticed any unusual electrical drains recently? A heavily discharged battery can trigger those errors, or it could be wiring.
