Astra immobilizer fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Vauxhall Astra Electric experienced an immobilizer fault, preventing the engine from starting. The issue persisted even with a spare key, suggesting a potential key programming problem. The security light was flashing, indicating a possible immobilizer system fault. The recommended solution was to have the key reprogrammed at a workshop, which resolved the issue.

Yeah, the security light is flashing! So, if it's the key programming, is that something I can fix myself, or am I looking at a trip to the workshop? Is there some kind of immobilizer bypass I could try?

Best to get it checked. Incorrect key programming is likely. A workshop can reprogram the key; attempting a bypass could cause more damage.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local shop; turns out the key needed reprogramming. Cost me 45€, but at least it's fixed! Appreciate the help!

Sounds like the immobilizer. Is the security light flashing? Could be a key programming issue, or a fault in the immobilizer system itself.
