Astra Overvoltage Errors

My 2012 Vauxhall Astra, gasoline engine, is throwing a fit. Only done 35737 km! Getting overvoltage errors, loads of fault memory entries. Systems are failing, battery's weak on startup, just a general electrical nightmare. What could be causing this chaos? Could it be a dodgy car ECU?

Sounds rough. I've got an Astra too, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Did you check the voltage regulator? That was my issue.

Voltage regulator, eh? Interesting. How did you pinpoint that as the culprit? I'm seeing circuit protection kicking in all over the place.

Yeah, same here with the circuit protection. After some poking around, I found a thread online describing the exact same problem. Ended up taking it to a workshop; they confirmed it was the voltage regulator. The battery was also heavily discharged or defective and needed replacing. Cost me around 290€ including parts and labour.

Cheers for the info! Voltage regulator and battery, noted. I'll get it checked out. You were spot on! Voltage regulator and the battery were both toast. New parts fitted, and all the electrical gremlins have vanished. Thanks again!
