Astra rain light sensor failure

Sounds like a pain. Have you checked the sensor itself for any obvious damage or blockages? I had issues with my old car when leaves blocked the sensor. Although, the symptoms were a bit different.

It looks clean. But someone mentioned something about bubbles under the sensor's gel pad. Any thoughts on that? Might that be the problem?

Bubbles under the gel pad could definitely be the culprit. That messes with the sensor's ability to detect properly. I remember someone else mentioning that too. I'd probably get it checked by a workshop if you're not comfortable messing with it yourself.

Cheers for the advice! It was the gel pad. Bubbles galore! Cost me 62€ to get sorted at the workshop, now the light sensor is working again. Sorted!
