Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the cable and plug connections yet. Where exactly is the light switch located, and is it easy to access? Any special tools needed?

The light switch is on the steering column. You can remove the steering column cover using a Torx screwdriver. However, if you're unsure, I recommend taking it to a workshop. The diagnostic alone could save you time and potential headaches.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was a defective cable connection to the light switch. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

I had a comparable fault in my Astra. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the light switch? A defective connection there could definitely cause the symptoms you're describing.
