Astra Tailgate Not Opening Fully

Having trouble with my 2017 Vauxhall Astra gasoline model. At 119671 km, the automatic tailgate doesn't open completely, and there's an error stored. Think it could be the hall sensor, maybe a bad cable or plug? I checked the wiring and connectors, but they look fine. What else should I look at?

I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. The power tailgate wouldn't open right, and an error code popped up. I fiddled with the wiring like you, but nothing obvious. Did you check the sensor itself? It might just be faulty.

Thanks. I haven't checked the sensor itself, just the wiring. How did you check the sensor in your Megane? What should I look for, and what tools would I need?

To be honest, I didn't get far. I was worried about messing things up, so I took it to a local shop. They fixed it fast and said it was a faulty hall sensor connection. Getting it checked professionally is probably best. Could save a headache.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to my mechanic, and it was a bad cable connection, like I thought. Repair was 95€. Thanks for sharing your experience; it helped me get it sorted.
