Atos clutch pedal switch fault
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Hyundai Atos is experiencing issues with the clutch pedal switch, leading to problems such as the gear selection not displaying on the speedometer, non-functional cruise control, and occasional engine starting failures. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion was made to inspect the physical condition of the switch where the pedal contacts it, but professional evaluation is recommended to potentially replace the switch, which could resolve the issues.

Thanks for the reply! When you say 'switch itself', do you mean where the pedal hits it, or somewhere else? I had a quick look, but couldn't see anything obvious, but I'm no expert.

Yeah, I meant the part where the pedal makes contact with the switch. If you can't see anything obvious, it might be worth getting it checked out professionally. Could be something internal to the switch. I had to take my Corsa to a workshop in the end. Saved me a headache.

Thanks, I think you're right. I'll take it to a local workshop. They quoted me about 95€ for a new switch and fitting, so hopefully, that sorts it out. Appreciate the advice!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa. My cruise control stopped working, and it turned out to be a faulty switch related to the brake pedal. Could be a similar safety mechanism thing. Have you checked the switch itself for any physical damage?
