Atos Engine Stalling Fuel Error
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Hyundai Atos experienced engine stalling and intermittent check engine light, with error codes indicating a fuel composition problem. Initial considerations included fuel line issues and contamination. Suggestions included checking spark plugs and the fuel filter, which were recently maintained. The problem was ultimately traced to a defective connector, confirmed by a workshop visit, resolving the issue without resorting to more complex or costly solutions.

The fuel filter was replaced about 20,000 kilometers ago, during routine maintenance. The spark plugs were checked then and seemed fine. Could a bad sensor, like the oxygen sensor, be causing this?

While O2 sensors can cause fuel mixture problems, the error code pointing at fuel composition makes me think it's something simpler. I suspect a bad cable or plug connection, maybe even a rodent problem! I know it sounds crazy, but it happens. I'd advise a visit to a trusted workshop. They have the equipment to properly diagnose the wiring harness, rather than just swapping out expensive components.

I took my Atos to a local workshop. The issue was indeed a defective connector, like you suspected. The repair was 95€. Thanks for the guidance; it saved me from more complex solutions.

Ah, the dreaded fuel gremlins! I had a similar issue with my old Daewoo Lanos back in '08. The engine would sputter and cough. I poured in all sorts of fuel additives, thinking it was bad gas. Turns out, the problem was far simpler. Before you chase fuel contamination too far, have you checked the basics? Are your spark plugs clean? And when was the last time you replaced your fuel filter? A clogged filter can wreak havoc on your fuel mixture.
