Atos Mirror Heating Failure

I'm about ready to chuck my 2019 Hyundai Atos with the gasoline engine into a ditch. The mirror heating has gone kaput. Both mirrors are stone cold, even with the temperature control cranked up. The car's throwing an error code related to it. I've checked the fuses – all good. Anyone else had this misery?

Summary of the thread

The 2019 Hyundai Atos experienced a failure in the mirror heating system, with both mirrors not warming up despite the temperature control being set high. The issue was accompanied by an error code, and initial checks showed that the fuses were intact. A suggestion was made to inspect the wiring harness for potential broken wires or corroded connectors, particularly where it enters the door. Upon professional inspection, the problem was identified as a corroded connector, which was replaced, resolving the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds frustrating! Had a similar head-scratcher with my old Opel Corsa (a 2014 model). Mirror heating packed it in, and yup, error code city. Did you happen to check the wiring harness where it enters the door? Could be a broken wire or corroded connector there. It's a common spot for failure due to all the opening and closing.

Wiring harness, eh? That's a bit beyond my comfort zone, but I get what you mean. Where exactly should I be looking for this 'wiring harness'? Is it something I can easily spot, or am I going to need to take half the door apart?

Yeah, it's usually behind the door card (the interior panel). Honestly, unless you're confident with car electrics, I'd advise against poking around too much. Modern cars are sensitive beasts. Best bet is probably to take it to a workshop. They'll have the tools and know-how to diagnose it properly and trace any dodgy wiring. Could just be a faulty connector or, as the computer suggested, a defective cable. Don't want to risk messing something else up!

Cheers for the advice! Sounds like I'm heading to the shop then. Just got the car back. Turns out it was exactly what you said: corroded connector in the door. 95€ and a new connector later, the mirrors are toasty again! Thanks for pointing me (and the mechanics) in the right direction!
