Atos NOx Sensor Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Hyundai Atos with a gasoline engine is experiencing a check engine light due to a NOx sensor failure, accompanied by a slight exhaust leak. The issue might be related to a cable or plug problem. A similar case suggests that the persistent exhaust noise could indicate emission control issues, and professional diagnosis and repair are recommended, with a quoted repair cost of around 95€.

That's a good way to describe it. Yes, it's persistent. Did you get the same NOx sensor error and check engine light?

Yes, it was the NOx sensor, identical symptoms. I'd advise taking it to a workshop for diagnosis and repair. DIY replacement might be tricky.

Thanks for confirming. I'll book a workshop appointment. They quoted around 95€ for the repair, including the new sensor.

I own an Atos and had a similar problem. Does it sound like a persistent cough in the exhaust, pointing to emission control issues?
