Atos O2 Sensor Issue

Hey, I'm scratching my head. My 2019 Hyundai Atos with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. The check engine light keeps popping on, and the error memory says something about the O2 sensor. To make matters worse, it feels like I'm guzzling gas like crazy! Could a dodgy cable or plug connection really be causing all this havoc? Anyone else experienced this nightmare?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Hyundai Atos owner experienced a persistent check engine light and increased fuel consumption, with error codes indicating an O2 sensor issue. The problem was suspected to be caused by a faulty cable or plug connection. After consulting with others who had similar issues, the owner took the car to a workshop, where a defective plug connection on the O2 sensor was identified and resolved by installing a new sensor.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my Atos, though I can't remember if it was exactly the same year. Check engine light, the whole shebang. I didn't notice the fuel consumption thing as much, but what a pain! Could it really be just the O2 sensor?

So, you had the same O2 sensor issue with your Atos and it triggered the check engine light? Did it affect your fuel consumption too? I was reading online that the exhaust system could be involved if the air-fuel ratio is off. How did you finally fix your problem?

Yeah, man, check engine light was the main symptom for me. I didn't really track the fuel consumption closely enough to say for sure. Honestly, I got spooked and took it straight to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. Maybe save yourself some hassle and do the same?

Thanks for the advice! It seems I'm not the only one dealing with this, and your experience definitely pushed me to get it checked professionally. Just got back from the shop, and you won't believe it – a defective plug connection on the O2 sensor was the culprit! New sensor installed and the light's gone. Cost me 95€, but I'm just relieved it's fixed!
