Atos oil pressure warning lamp and sensor fault

I'm having an issue with my 2014 Hyundai Atos, the gasoline version. An error message pops up in the speedometer, and the oil pressure warning lamp lights up intermittently. The error memory stores a fault related to the oil level sensor signal. I suspect it might be a faulty sensor, or a bad connection? Anyone else encountered this?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Hyundai Atos owner experienced an intermittent oil pressure warning lamp and an error message related to the oil level sensor signal. The issue was suspected to be a faulty sensor or a bad connection. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that the problem was due to a corroded connector to the oil level sensor. The workshop cleaned the connector and replaced a section of the wiring, resolving the issue.

Could be a few things, but a faulty oil level sensor or a wiring issue are the most common. Have you checked the sensor's connector and wiring for any obvious damage or corrosion? Also, what's the mileage on your Atos?

Thanks! The mileage is currently at 73491 km. I looked at the connector, and it seemed okay, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for in terms of corrosion. Could it be something else entirely, or am I on the right track?

Given the symptoms and the error code, a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor is highly probable. While it could theoretically be something else, the oil level sensor circuit is the logical first place to investigate. I'd recommend having a workshop take a closer look, just to be safe.

Alright, I appreciate the advice! I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on. It was a corroded connector to the oil level sensor, just like you suggested. They cleaned it up and replaced a small section of the wiring. The total repair cost was 95€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
