Atos tire pressure light stays on

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2011 Hyundai Atos, it's a gasoline engine. The tire pressure light keeps popping up on the dash, and I'm getting an error message in the speedometer. I've checked the tire pressure manually, and it seems fine, but the error is still there! I even hooked it up to a code reader, and it shows a tire pressure sensor fault. The car has 175723 km on it. Could it be a sensor issue?

Summary of the thread

The tire pressure light on a 2011 Hyundai Atos remains on despite the tires being properly inflated, indicating a potential issue with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). A code reader shows a tire pressure sensor fault, suggesting a possible sensor issue. A likely cause is a dead battery in one of the sensors, especially given the vehicle's age and mileage. Consulting a mechanic confirmed the issue, and replacing the sensor battery resolved the problem.

Greetings. Your situation sounds familiar. I encountered a similar predicament with my 2014 Opel Corsa a while back. It exhibited comparable symptoms: a persistent low tire pressure warning despite the tires being properly inflated. The error was also stored in the memory. Have you considered the possibility of a faulty TPMS sensor? It might be something as simple as a dead battery in one of the sensors.

That's interesting! A dead sensor battery... hmmm. How did you figure out it was the sensor battery and not something more serious with the system itself? Did you have to go through a lot of troubleshooting?

In my experience, the process of elimination proved to be the most effective approach. Given the age of your vehicle and the mileage, a depleted sensor battery is a plausible explanation. The lifespan of such batteries is finite, akin to that of a common watch battery. While a more comprehensive diagnostic evaluation could be performed, it may be more expedient to consult with a qualified mechanic. They possess specialized tools to ascertain the status of each sensor and offer tailored recommendations.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a local workshop and you were right! It was the sensor battery. Repair cost me 280€. I really appreciate your help!
