Thanks for sharing your experience with the A3 alarm system problem. My repair journey sounds very similar. The alarm controller unit ended up being the culprit in my A1 as well. Could you share how much you paid for the complete repair? My local shop quoted quite a high price and I want to compare costs. Also curious if you have experienced any other security or wiring issues since getting it fixed? The automotive alarm has been working fine in my case but I noticed some occasional electrical quirks with the central locking.

After getting my A3 checked by the mechanic, the signal problem with the siren communication fault was completely resolved. The fault detection revealed a loose cable connector at the alarm control module, which was much simpler than the initial water damage diagnosis. The final repair cost was 95 Euro for fixing the faulty connection, significantly less than replacing the entire unit. The automotive alarm has worked flawlessly since the repair, with no recurring wiring issues or security concerns. Your central locking quirks could indicate a separate electrical issue though. Since these systems often share wiring harnesses, it might be worth having the central locking system checked before it develops into a bigger problem. The fault detection system should be able to identify if there are any current issues with those circuits. Unlike my initial experience, it turned out the wiring issue was straightforward once properly diagnosed. No other alarm system problems have surfaced in the past year since the repair.

Thanks for the detailed follow-up regarding the alarm repair. After taking my A1 to the mechanic, the diagnosis showed a faulty connection in the alarm control module, similar to your case. The repair involved fixing corroded wiring and replacing a damaged connector. The total cost came to 280 Euro, which included diagnostic time and parts. While higher than your repair, it seems fair given the extensive work needed to access and fix the vehicle security components. The automotive alarm now works perfectly, though I still get occasional central locking glitches, the passenger door sometimes needs two clicks to lock properly. Going to schedule another check soon to address these remaining electrical quirks. The signal problem with the locks is minor but better to fix it before it potentially affects the alarm system again. Really glad I got a professional repair rather than attempting a DIY fix on such a complex security system.

Had the same wiring issue with my 2018 Audi A3. The automotive alarm problem started similarly, complete system failure with siren-related codes. The vehicle security system needed professional diagnosis as an alarm reset did not resolve the issue. The root cause was water damage to the alarm controller unit, which had corroded the main connection points. This required removing parts of the front wheel well liner to access the component. The fix involved replacing the entire alarm control module and rewiring several connections. This was not a quick fix as the new unit needed proper coding to sync with the vehicle systems. While not the most expensive repair, it was definitely more complex than basic maintenance. Based on your symptoms, the issue sounds identical to what my A3 experienced. This type of vehicle security fault typically stems from either water intrusion or wiring deterioration near the siren mounting point. A professional diagnostic scan would be the first step before any repair work. Would not recommend attempting DIY fixes on modern automotive alarm systems as incorrect repairs can affect other vehicle modules.
