Having faced similar injection issues with my 2006 Audi A3 last year, I can share my experience as someone with moderate car repair knowledge. The symptoms match exactly what happened to my car, poor performance, rough idle, and excessive gasoline consumption. After multiple misfires, I took it to a workshop where they diagnosed dirty fuel injectors causing irregular fuel delivery. The complete service included: Ultrasonic injector cleaning, Replacement of 2 completely clogged injectors, New seals and gaskets, Full system diagnostics, Emissions test after repair Total cost was 515 Euro, including parts and labor. After the repair, fuel consumption returned to normal and the engine ran smoothly again. To properly assist, could you share: Engine size and type, Current mileage, Check engine light status, Any error codes shown, When was the last fuel system service This would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced and provide more targeted advice about the repair process. Using quality fuel and regular fuel system cleaning can prevent these injection problems from recurring.

Last service was at 97052 KM and the rough running got worse after that. The mechanic ran diagnostics showing P0301 and P0303 error codes, pointing to cylinder misfires. Reading the responses, I agree its likely injection related since the symptoms match perfectly, especially the poor starts and excessive gasoline consumption. Going to schedule a repair visit this week to check the injectors and hopefully resolve these misfire issues. Thanks for the detailed repair cost breakdown and advice.

Indeed, those error codes P0301 and P0303 confirm what we suspected, the misfires match classic injection system issues. On my A3, the performance problems started similarly after reaching 95000 KM. The misfire codes specifically indicate problems in cylinders 1 and 3, which is exactly where my clogged injectors were located. Fuel delivery issues often appear in pairs due to similar wear patterns. The gradual performance decline and increased fuel consumption are typical signs of injector clogging. Worth mentioning that after my repair, the workshop recommended: Using fuel system cleaner every 15000 KM, Regular fuel filter changes, Premium grade fuel to reduce deposit buildup The emissions test after repair showed significant improvement, confirming the injectors were the root cause. Since the fix, no more misfires or rough running issues have occurred. Looking forward to hearing how your repair visit goes. The symptoms and diagnostic codes strongly suggest you are dealing with the same injection system problems I experienced.

Thanks for the input. Just got back from the workshop and wanted to close this thread with an update. They confirmed my suspicions, two badly clogged injectors were causing the engine problems. The repair bill came to 490 Euro total, slightly less than expected. The vehicle is running perfectly now, no more rough starts or excessive gasoline consumption. The mechanics did a full system cleaning and replaced both faulty injectors. They also recommended using injector cleaner every 15000 KM to prevent future clogging. The diagnostic codes are now cleared and the engine idles smoothly again. Power delivery during acceleration is back to normal too. Really glad I caught this before it caused more serious engine damage. Will definitely follow the maintenance schedule more strictly going forward. Thanks again for helping diagnose the injection system problems. The repair experience matched exactly what others described, both in symptoms and costs.
