Audi A3 Injector Issues Causing Multiple Engine Symptoms

My 2015 Audi A3 has been acting up lately with rough starts and keeps stalling when idle. Engine feels weak and drinks way more fuel than usual. Previous mechanic visit wasnt great, so looking for second opinions. Pretty sure its the fuel injectors but want to confirm before taking it in again. Anyone dealt with similar symptoms on their A3? Running a gas engine with 141839km on the clock.

Had a similar issue on my 2012 Audi A4 2.0T. The symptoms match classic injector clogging, rough idle, increased fuel consumption, and significant power loss. The vehicle started showing these issues around 130000km. Brought it to the garage where they confirmed multiple dirty injection valves causing unusual misfires. The diagnosis showed uneven fuel spray patterns affecting combustion efficiency. This explained the higher emissions and poor performance. The replacement process involved removing all injectors, professional ultrasonic cleaning, and replacing necessary seals. It was a serious repair that required specialized equipment, but not as severe as complete injector replacement would have been. After cleaning, the transformation was significant: smooth idle returned, fuel consumption normalized, and power restored. The repair prevented potential long-term engine damage. With your symptoms, recommend getting a proper fuel injection system diagnosis. Continuing to drive with clogged injectors can lead to carbon buildup and more severe engine issues. Professional cleaning should resolve these issues if caught early.

Thanks for sharing your injector cleaning experience. That matches what my A3 was showing. Mechanic sorted mine out pretty quick with similar cleaning procedure and the performance went right back to normal. No issues since the fix. Did you remember roughly what the repair cost you? Also curious if you needed any follow-up work after getting the injectors cleaned, since I might need this done soon too.

Glad to hear your A3 is running smoothly again. Yes, I remember the costs clearly, the complete injection valve cleaning service came to 515 Euro at the shop. This included diagnostics, labor, and cleaning supplies. The vehicle has been performing flawlessly since the repair with no follow-up work needed. The engine response is crisp, fuel consumption is back to normal, and those annoying cold start issues are completely gone. A properly maintained fuel injection system really makes a difference in emissions and overall engine performance. Just make sure to use quality fuel and change the fuel filter according to schedule to prevent future clogging issues. Its been over 40000km since my repair and everything is still working perfectly. The investment was definitely worth it compared to the cost of complete injector replacement or potential engine damage from running with dirty injectors.

Thanks for the helpful info. Finally took my A3 to a different mechanic last week. They found multiple clogged injectors causing the misfire issues. Total bill came to 480 Euro for cleaning all injectors and replacing worn seals. The repair made an immediate difference, engine runs smooth again and fuel economy is back to normal. Really happy I got it sorted before any serious engine damage occurred. Shop also showed me the dirty injectors and explained how the clogging was affecting performance. No follow-up work needed since the fix. Vehicle starts perfectly now and idle is rock steady. Mechanic recommended switching to top tier fuel and staying on schedule with filter changes to prevent future issues. Seems like catching injector problems early saved me from bigger repairs down the road.
