Audi A4 Diesel 2014: Difficulties with the gearshift and possible defect in the transmission oil pressure sensor

Hello everyone, I'm a bit worried about my 2014 Audi A4 Diesel with about 92,450 km. Recently the gearshift has been acting up, there is an unpleasant noise when shifting and the warning light in the speedometer has come on. I suspect it could be something with the transmission oil pressure sensor. Have any of you ever had similar problems and how did it go at the garage? I didn't have such a good experience last time... Thanks for your help!

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Audi A4 Diesel with 92,450 km is experiencing gearshift difficulties, an unpleasant noise when shifting, and a warning light on the speedometer. The suspected issue is a defect in the transmission oil pressure sensor. A similar case with an Audi A6 involved the same sensor, which, when replaced, resolved the problem without further issues. The suggested solution is to have the sensor checked and potentially replaced to prevent major damage.

Hey, I can understand your concerns. I recently had similar symptoms with my 2017 Audi A6. The unpleasant noise when changing gear and the warning message in the speedometer quickly made me realize that something was wrong. At the garage, they then determined that it was actually the transmission oil pressure sensor that had given up the ghost. It was pretty critical, because if you don't notice the problem in time, it can lead to major damage. After the repair, however, my car ran perfectly again. Hope that helps you a bit.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. Your situation sounds really similar to mine. Can you remember how much the repair cost you? And have you had any other problems with your car since then?

Hey, so after the repair, my Audi A6 works like clockwork. The faulty function of the transmission oil pressure sensor was corrected and I haven't had any further problems since. In terms of the cost, I had to fork out around €95 because the cable/plug on the sensor was empty. Sure, it wasn't cheap, but it was worth it. If you have any more questions, let me know!

Great, thanks for your help. Your experience takes away some of my worries. 95 doesn't sound too bad when I consider that it could work again. I will take my Audi to the workshop as soon as possible. Hopefully it really is just the sensor and no other damage has occurred. Thanks again for your advice!
