Thanks for sharing your experience with the temperature sensor issue. My Audi was fixed about 6 months ago and Im really happy with how the HVAC system is working now. The climate control operates perfectly in all modes. Just wondering, do you remember the total cost for your repair? Also, has everything stayed working properly since the fix or have you noticed any other climate control quirks? Its always good to know if these sensor diagnostics lead to lasting solutions.

Since getting my A4 fixed at the specialist shop, the climate control system has worked flawlessly. The total repair cost was 95 Euro, which covered fixing a damaged cable connection to the temperature sensor. It turned out to be a much simpler fix than initially expected, no need for extensive parts replacement. The climate regulation system has remained stable for over a year now. The auto temperature settings work perfectly, and the HVAC sensor readings are consistently accurate. This relatively affordable repair completely resolved the original issues with the climate control module. Looking back, getting proper sensor diagnostics from a qualified technician was key. They quickly identified the exact connection problem rather than jumping to replace more expensive components. The temperature control functionality has been reliable ever since, with no recurring issues or quirks.

Thanks everyone for the insights. I finally got my A6 checked at a specialist shop and the total repair came to 320 Euro. The mechanic found that both the ambient temperature sensor and part of the wiring needed replacement. The sensor diagnostics showed multiple connection faults in the system. The repair took about 3 hours. They had to remove some trim pieces to access the damaged components, but the climate regulation system works perfectly now. The auto temperature settings respond correctly and the AC blows nice and cold. The shop did a thorough job with the sensor replacement and even showed me the corroded parts they removed. Six months later, everything still works great, no temperature reading errors or climate control issues. Definitely worth getting it properly diagnosed rather than trying quick fixes. This experience taught me that finding a knowledgeable technician who takes time with proper sensor diagnostics really makes a difference. While it cost more than I initially hoped, having reliable climate control is worth it.

Had the same HVAC sensor issues on my 2015 Audi A4 2.0T last season. The temperature control system showed similar symptoms, no response from auto settings and complete AC failure. The root cause was a faulty ambient temperature sensor connection. The diagnostic revealed the wire harness near the front bumper had corroded, causing intermittent temperature reading errors. This triggered the climate control system to shut down as a safety measure. The repair involved: Full diagnostic scan of the temperature control module, Removal of front bumper to access the sensor assembly, Replacement of the wiring harness and connector, Recalibration of the HVAC system This was a moderate repair job requiring about 4 hours of labor. Not particularly complex but needed proper diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact issue. The sensor issues can sometimes be misdiagnosed as a compressor problem, so getting an accurate diagnostic is crucial. A certified Audi specialist should be able to properly diagnose and fix this. While not a major mechanical issue, its best addressed promptly as continued operation could strain other climate control components.
