Audi A6 Diesel (2017) - Problems with check engine light, performance and starting

Hey everyone, my Audi A6 Diesel (built in 2017) is showing some strange signs. The check engine light is on, it has hardly any power and it won't start. I have a suspicion that it could be due to pressure fluctuations in one cylinder. Have any of you had similar problems and can tell me more before I go to the garage? How did you solve the problem in the end and what experiences did you have in the workshop? Many thanks in advance!

Hi mate, I've had a similar problem with my Audi A4 diesel (2015 model year). I have limited experience with cars, but enough to know that when the check engine light comes on, it's serious. I took my car to my trusted garage. They checked and found that one glow plug was badly coked up. This was throwing the whole engine out of sync and causing the problem with the weak drive and difficulty starting. My mechanic replaced the faulty glow plug and the problem was solved. It cost me about 560 euros, but the car now runs like new. Maybe your problem is similar. Can you please provide some more details about your vehicle - such as mileage, when you last had an engine check etc? That would help to make a more accurate diagnosis. Good luck, buddy!

Hey, so my mileage is 26972 km and the last service was just recently. Without going into too much detail, they checked the engine and everything seemed fine. However, now comes this with the check engine light.... Your experience is very helpful, thank you! I think I will take my A6 to the garage as well. You never know, could also be a glow plug. Wish me luck!

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, buddy! Fascinating that your Audi is quite new and already showing such problems. Just goes to show again that cars can always bring unpredictable things, no matter how new they are. With your low mileage, I wouldn't have thought of a coked glow plug, but who knows... Of course, it would be great if it's a small thing like a faulty glow plug, as it's easy and relatively cheap to fix. Please leave a message here if you know more - I'd be really interested to know what it was in your case. Have a safe journey and good luck at the workshop!
