Thanks for sharing your experience. That sounds exactly like what I am dealing with right now. Been hesitant about getting it fixed since my last mechanic overcharged for basic work. The air intake system seems fine but everything points to throttle sensor issues like you described. Did the problem completely resolve after the replacement? Would be really helpful to know what you paid for the full repair including parts and labor. Also curious if any other related issues popped up in the months after fixing the throttle body? My A6 is still driveable but the response delay is getting worse and I want to address it before it potentially leaves me stranded in limp mode.

The throttle valve repair completely resolved all the performance issues in my A4. The total cost came to 265 Euro for fixing the accelerator pedal module electronics, which was actually less than initially expected. The key was finding a reputable shop that properly diagnosed the root cause rather than just replacing parts. The throttle sensor readings are now perfect and the check engine light hasnt returned. Fuel efficiency improved noticeably after the repair since the engine can properly regulate air flow again. The sluggish acceleration and power delivery problems disappeared completely. No additional issues have surfaced in the 6 months since the fix. The car runs like new with smooth throttle response. Getting it repaired was definitely worth it to prevent potential damage from running the engine with incorrect air-fuel mixtures. Would recommend addressing it soon while its still driveable. Waiting too long risks getting stranded if the throttle body fails completely. Just make sure to get a proper diagnostic scan first to confirm the exact problem before authorizing repairs.

I finally got the throttle body issue fixed on my A6. After reading about similar experiences, I took it to a different shop this time. The mechanic found multiple fault codes during the diagnostic scan pointing directly to a failing throttle body, just as suspected. The repair took about 4 hours total. They had to order the part which arrived next day. Total cost came to 340 Euro including parts, labor and programming the new unit. Much more reasonable than I expected given the electronic components involved. The difference in performance is remarkable. No more hesitation during acceleration, engine idling is smooth, and the check engine light is finally off. Fuel efficiency has improved too since the air intake and fuel delivery are properly regulated now. Definitely recommend anyone experiencing similar symptoms to get it checked right away. The peace of mind from having it properly fixed is worth it. Really glad I didnt wait until it failed completely and left me stranded somewhere.

Had similar symptoms with my 2004 Audi A4 1.8T. The response delay and poor acceleration turned out to be a faulty throttle body with deteriorated electronics. The car went into limp mode several times before diagnosis. The throttle sensor was sending incorrect signals, causing the ECU to limit power output for safety. Main symptoms matched yours, sluggish acceleration from stops and reduced engine performance. The check engine light appeared intermittently at first, then stayed on permanently. This required complete throttle body replacement since the internal electronics were not serviceable separately. The repair was fairly serious as the throttle system directly impacts fuel efficiency and overall drivability. Without proper throttle control, the engine cannot respond correctly to pedal inputs. The job took about 3 hours at the shop. They needed to reprogram the new throttle body to sync with the ECU after installation. Would strongly recommend having this checked soon, as continuing to drive with throttle issues can potentially cause additional problems with fuel delivery and engine performance. Make sure to get a proper diagnostic scan first, the fault codes will confirm if its truly a throttle-related issue before any parts are replaced.
