Audi A7 Check Engine Light Issue After Injector Replacement
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Audi A7 owner experienced a check engine light issue after replacing the fuel injector for cylinder #4. Despite the repair, the light reappeared, although the car's performance remained unchanged. A complete overhaul was suggested by the dealer, but it may not be necessary. Checking for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) with an OBD-II scanner and ensuring the gas cap is tight are recommended steps to identify and potentially resolve the issue.

It's possible that the check engine light is related to a different issue than the fuel injector. I recommend checking for any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) using an OBD-II scanner, as this can provide more insight into the specific problem. Sometimes, a faulty sensor or a loose gas cap can trigger the light without affecting performance. If you haven't already, try tightening the gas cap and see if that resolves the issue. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
Thank you I'll keep tabs on fuel cap, but doubt it's the issue as I've refueled a couple of times. The check engine light is no longer on. I'm really having a problem understanding AUDI dealership saying I need complete overhaul, when there is zero change in the way the car performs & it doesn't use any oil.

It's good to hear the check engine light is off now. If the car is running well and there are no other symptoms, a complete overhaul might not be necessary. Dealerships sometimes recommend extensive repairs as a precaution, but it's important to ensure they're justified. Keep monitoring the car's performance and check for any new warning lights or unusual behavior. If the light comes back on, consider getting a second opinion from another trusted mechanic. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!
