Audi A7 Climate Control Failure: Diagnostic Tips

Looking for advice on my 2022 A7 with climate control issues. The temperature output is weak, AC wont turn on at all, and there is an error code stored. Already checked the control panel but unsure if its the real cause or if there might be issues with electrical connectors or the temperature sensor instead. Car has 71691km and runs on gas. Had a bad experience with my last mechanic, so hoping to hear from others who dealt with similar problems. Anyone had this fixed and can recommend what to look out for?

Had a similar issue on my 2019 A5 last winter. The climate control system showed similar symptoms, weak output and complete AC failure. Initially suspected the control panel, but diagnostic tests revealed faulty wiring connections to the temperature sensor. The root cause was corroded electrical connectors affecting multiple components in the climate control system. The repair involved replacing several electronic connections and the main temperature sensor unit. This was not a quick fix, the entire dashboard needed removal to access the wiring harness. Based on the symptoms you describe, there is likely a combination of electronic faults affecting your system. Since your vehicle has high mileage, the connections might have deteriorated. The error code storage suggests communication issues between components. The repair was significant and required specialized diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact location of the failing connections. Worth noting that attempting DIY fixes on modern climate control systems can potentially damage other electronic components if not done correctly. Would recommend getting a full diagnostic scan at a workshop specializing in Audi electronics. The issue usually does not resolve itself and can worsen if left unaddressed.

That perfectly matches what happened with my A7. The blower motor worked inconsistently before failing completely, and the control panel showed unusual errors. After taking it to a specialist, they found issues with the power supply unit and faulty connections to the temperature sensor. Would you mind sharing what the total repair cost was in your case? Just wondering how it compares, and have you experienced any other climate control problems since the fix?

Since having my A5 repaired, the HVAC system has worked flawlessly. The control panel issues were indeed caused by faulty electrical connections, which the technician resolved by fixing a damaged cable and plug connection. The total cost came to 95 Euro, which seems reasonable considering the complexity of modern air conditioning systems. The job took less than two hours and included testing all climate control functions to ensure proper operation. Unlike your situation with the blower motor and power supply problems, my issue was simpler since it only involved reconnecting components rather than replacing parts. Looking back, taking it to a specialist who understood these complex electronic systems was definitely the right choice. The climate control has performed perfectly for several months now with no error codes or temperature regulation problems.

After reading about similar experiences, I took my A7 to a certified specialist who really knew their way around modern HVAC systems. The diagnostic scan revealed multiple issues, a faulty blower motor, damaged wiring harness, and corrupted temperature sensor connections. The repair took a full day since they had to remove several dashboard components to access the wiring. Total cost came to 780 Euro including parts and labor. While expensive, it was worth every cent, the air conditioning now works perfectly and all error codes are gone. Looking back, I should have addressed the weak temperature output earlier before it led to complete system failure. At least now I know a reliable technician who understands these complex electronic systems. No issues with the climate control for the past few months, and the cabin temperature stays exactly where I set it.
