Thanks for sharing your experience with the pressure sensor and DPF issues. The symptoms you described sound exactly like what I am dealing with on my A7. I am really glad to hear your repair resolved the problem completely. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much you paid for the full repair? Also, has anything else come up with the exhaust system or emission control components since the fix?

Had the work done last week and got everything sorted. The exhaust back pressure sensor replacement fixed all the diesel exhaust issues completely. Total cost was 245 Euro for parts and labor, which seems fair considering the diagnostic work needed. The repair resolved all symptoms, no more warning lights, reduced power problems are gone, and the emission control system is working normally. The low pressure readings in the particulate filter have returned to proper levels. After 500km of driving since the fix, the exhaust system is performing perfectly with no new issues. The mechanics confirmed the original sensor was indeed defective, causing incorrect DPF pressure readings. Getting it fixed promptly helped avoid any additional damage to other components. If your symptoms match mine, the sensor replacement should solve the problem. The repair cost was worth it to prevent more extensive DPF damage down the line.

After reading these responses, I decided to get the repair done at a different workshop. The new mechanic confirmed it was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor causing problems with the diesel engine. The total repair came to 280 Euro including a full diagnostic check, sensor replacement, and forced DPF regeneration. They completed everything in about 3 hours and explained exactly what was wrong. The reduced power issues and warning lights disappeared immediately after the fix. Been driving for about 2 weeks now and the exhaust system is working perfectly, no more smoke or strange smells during acceleration. The pressure readings are now normal and the DPF seems to be regenerating properly. Really glad I got this fixed before it caused more serious damage. For anyone else facing similar problems, getting the pressure sensor checked early can save a lot of headache and potentially expensive repairs later. The repair cost was reasonable considering the alternative of a complete DPF replacement.

Last month had similar DPF issues with my Audi A6 TDI (2013). The symptoms matched exactly, reduced power, white smoke during acceleration, and warning lights. The exhaust back pressure sensor was failing, causing incorrect readings for the DPF regeneration system. This prevented proper particulate filter operation and led to incomplete regeneration cycles. The sensor fault made the engine control unit reduce power to protect the emission control systems. The repair required: Diagnostic testing to confirm pressure sensor malfunction, Replacement of exhaust back pressure sensor, Forced DPF regeneration cycle, ECU reset This was a serious issue requiring immediate attention, as continued driving could have led to complete DPF clogging and potential engine damage. The diesel engine needs proper back pressure monitoring for optimal performance. The whole repair took about 4 hours at the workshop. After fixing the sensor and completing a full DPF regeneration cycle, all symptoms disappeared completely. The car has run perfectly for 15,000 km since the repair with no warning lights or performance issues. Would strongly recommend getting this checked soon, as delaying could lead to more extensive DPF damage.
